"Greenlee accuses Kendall of lying to break her and Ryan up. Kendall says she is not lying and that Ryan is tricking her into not having a child. Greenlee tells her that Ryan would discuss it with her first. Kendall claims Ryan might have tried to tell her, but she didn't see it. Greenlee says Kendall resents her happy marriage and she having Ryan. Kendall tells her she is being an honest friend and that Ryan has not overcome his feelings about being a Lavery. Kendall updates Greenlee on the telephone call Ryan got and her checking on who the doctor is. Ryan admitted he was getting the surgery and asked her not to tell Greenlee, Kendall says. Greenlee begins to believe Kendall and asks her when the appointment is and how long she has known about Ryan's plan. Kendall tells her she does not know when he is getting it done and was always on her side. Greenlee doesn't believe her, since she never told her about Ryan's plans. Greenlee tells Kendall she is a friend to Ryan, not her. Kendall tells her she told Ryan he was doing the wrong thing, but Greenlee counters that she should have made that decision, not Kendall. Greenlee rushes out to go home and stop Ryan from getting the surgery.

Ryan tells Jonathan he is not real, as Jonathan continues to tell him he is a Lavery and destined to become evil. Ryan tells him that he has chosen his own fate and is controlling his behavior. Jonathan says that he is proof Lavery brothers are evil. Ryan threatens to kill him again, if he has too. Ryan begins to walk out the door, but stops as Jonathan questions his sanity. Suddenly, Braden and his father show up and they all sit on Ryan's couch, threatening to stay there with him. Jonathan asks Ryan why is so scared of having children, if he doesn't think he will turn evil too. Ryan denies being anything like his family and tells his father, despite the beatings he took, he has and always will be better than him. He will never treat Greenlee the way his father treated his wife and children, Ryan says. Braden tells Ryan the cards are stacked against him and eventually, Ryan will change, whether he wants to or not. Braden, Jonathan and his father start yelling at him at once, but he tells them he is through with all of them and when he asks them to go, they are gone.

Greenlee gets home early, surprising Ryan, but he realizes something is wrong. Greenlee tells him she knows about his plan and she does not agree with it. She tells him they should have children and perhaps, they need to get therapy. Ryan says its too late, it has already been done.

Danielle and Simone go into a private club as part of a plan to help Ryan and Greenlee. Simone says that if they get in, they will get the scoop on Ryan's plans. Danielle says the club looks unsafe and if Ryan was deceiving Greenlee, he would not pick a dump to go to. Simone tells her something is up with him and to just follow her lead. She bangs on the door and a woman answers it, claiming the property was a private establishment. Simone and Danielle say they are there on behalf of Ryan, but the woman claims she has not heard that name. The woman goes back inside and the two women are not sure what the place is. Simone guesses perhaps a "hoochie house" but Danielle doubts he would cheat on Greenlee. Simone and Danielle go to breakfast the next day to talk more about Ryan and Greenlee's marriage. Simone tells Danielle she is going to tell Greenlee that Ryan is cheating on her, but Danielle says she won't allow her.

Maddie threatens to hate Sam if he walks on her again as Maria walks in the living room. Maria tells her children that they work with their feelings. Maddie blames her mother again, for losing her father, and now, her brother. Sam says he is going to Tad's and Maria can't tell him what to do because she is not his real mother. Maria says whether they like it or not, her children's lives are with her. Maddie tells her she does not want to go back to school because the students are teasing her about her "slut mother." Maddie shows her a note and Maria advises them not to let the students get to them. Maria realizes something else is going on and Maddie warns Sam not to tell her. Sam says that when Maddie dropped her purse in the parking lot, some boys hoovered over her, joking that they wanted a "free piece" of her, but Sam beat them up, before they could hurt her. Maria tells Maddie she did not deserve that and apologizes for her behavior. She claims Zach is out of her life for good and she loves her children. Sam tells her Zach is probably not gone and its too late for family bonding, then goes to his room, with Maddie at his heels. Maria tries to call a family meeting the next day, but Maddie walks out. Maria suggests that maybe they should move to get a fresh start. Sam says moving is the same as running away. Not to mention, he would end up leaving his new family, the Martins, and his girlfriend, Lily. Maddie goes to visit her father's grave, saying she hates her mother and will punish her.

Lily walks in to the storage room to get a towel and finds Zach. She greets him and asks Zach if he is hiding. Zach says no and Lily tells him he is the man who did not kill the man in the wheelchair and the man her boyfriend hates. When Zach asks her who her boyfriend is, Lily tells him it is Sam. Lily asks him why is there if he is not hiding. Zach tells her he has lost something and Lily offers to help him find it. Zach says that what he lost isn't tangible, they are more like feelings. Lily admits she knows how that feels like and often goes to a hollow tree to think about her feelings. Lily says that in one of her classes, she studies emotions and faces, but she is not sure what Zach's face says. Zach tells her his face shows some of the mistakes that he has made. Lily says she has been wrong a lot too and asks him who hates him. Zach tells her that they are Erica, Ethan and of course, Sam. Lily tells her about their escape plan that failed and Zach promises not to give Sam anymore trouble. Lily asks him where he went wrong with Ethan and Zach says he tried to make the right choices for his son, but he never knew how to be a father. Lily offers to give Zach a clue on how to be a good dad. Lily tells him to stand in one spot and pretend like she is his child and she starts walking backwards. Zach yells stop when she almost hits the door. Lily says that what Zach did was interfering because Ethan is an adult and her clue tried to teach him a lesson. Zach agrees and admits he was only trying to do the right thing. Lily says she has to leave, but Zach thanks her for the advice. Lily hands him a lifejacket and says it might work.

Reggie and Lily to the storage room to talk. Reggie says he wants to talk to her about Sam and advises her not to practice kissing. When Lily asks why, Reggie tells her that kissing might lead to another step she is not ready for. Lily says she won't do anything other than kissing, but Reggie is scared she might change her mind as things progress. Lily tells Reggie he is interfering and that he should go back to being her brother.

Zach goes to see Kendall the next morning and he asks her if she is OK. Kendall says she is fine, despite her looks say otherwise. He tells her he is withdrawing his suit to overturn Cambias Industries. This will allow her to get out now with no questions asked, he says."
