02/17/2003 Valentine's Day

"It was Valentine's Day, and none of the working Fusion ladies had hot dates. Kendall, Greenlee, and Simone were discussing how they would love to be wined and dined, when a booming voice uttered, "Are you hot?" It was the gorgeous pipe-fixing maintenance man Carlos, and he was standing right behind Simone. Simone did her usual swooning at the sight of Carlos. She somehow managed to calmly tell him that they hadn't called him.

Carlos explained that Reggie had called about a heating problem and quickly headed toward the thermostat. Kendall and Greenlee were chuckling loudly about Simone's lovesick behavior. "You're like a dog about to jump on a juicy steak," Kendall said as she giggled. Then Carlos called across the room to Simone that he would fix her screws in a few minutes. This statement made Greenlee literally spit out her water from laughing so hard. Simone begged the two women to calm down, and sauntered over to Carlos.

Kendall and Greenlee bonded some more as they watched Simone flirt. A visitor interrupted their spying. "Ooh, competition," Kendall whispered gleefully. It was Simone's lawyer -- the one who had helped her when she had been arrested. Simone invited him in and introduced the lawyer to Carlos.

The lawyer told Simone that he was hoping he could collect what she owed him: dinner for two. Simone looked a bit flustered as she sneaked a glimpse at Carlos but then happily agreed to take the lawyer to dinner. She asked Greenlee and Kendall if it was okay to leave. The women giggled as Kendall inquired loudly if Simone was going to dig into his "legal briefs."

Simone ignored their comments and turned to say goodbye to Carlos, who had somehow disappeared. She shrugged her shoulders and happily ran out. As soon as Simone left, the smiles on Kendall and Greenlee's faces left. They both confessed that they were jealous and depressed from being alone on Valentine's Day.

Kendall sat down at her computer and noticed that Greenlee had received a Valentine's email. Greenlee was shocked. She looked at it and immediately concluded that the email was from Leo. Kendall got upset that Greenlee could actually think that and gently scolded her that even Leo would want her to move on. Greenlee got sad and explained how she had pictured being with Leo on Valentine's Day.

Kendall returned to her computer and was disappointed that Michael hadn't sent her a card. She decided to head home, but on her way out, she ran into a deliveryman with roses. She excitedly ran back to her desk with the flowers. Greenlee watched as Kendall opened the card. "I guess Michael didn't forget Valentine's Day," Greenlee said with a half-smile. Kendall agreed and quietly headed again toward the elevator. Then she turned around, took out a red rose, and laid it on Greenlee's desk. "Happy Valentine's Day ... partner," she said before leaving.

Maggie was lying on her bed, complaining to Bianca about Henry's hot and cold tendencies and their recent problem with the Asian/Caucasian thing. "Maybe he's a good guy, or maybe he's just a jerk," Maggie reasoned. "Maybe he's a cute jerk," Bianca suggested with a smile, implying that Maggie was attracted to him. Maggie got a bit uncomfortable with Bianca giving her a love pep talk. Bianca assured Maggie that she was okay with everything.

Maggie admitted that Henry was good-looking but insisted that his looks had nothing to do with it. Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was Henry, and he was furious. "Stop making me crazy," Henry shouted, insisting, "I'm not going to fail chemistry because of you." Maggie was shocked and confused. Suddenly, Henry noticed Bianca in the room and got a little embarrassed. Seeing Henry's mood, Bianca quickly exited.

After Bianca left, Henry explained that he was still angry that Maggie had essentially called him a racist. He emphatically denied that that was the case but reminded her how many people in the world were racist. Maggie agreed with Henry but still couldn't understand why he was so angry with her. "So it's not a Caucasian thing, it's a me thing," Maggie concluded. "No, no, no," Henry exclaimed, getting very upset again.

Henry looked into Maggie's eyes and said that all the bigotry in the world couldn't stop his feelings toward her. "So why are you so confused?" Maggie asked, very confused herself. "Because you're gay," Henry replied. He assured her that he was okay with whatever she and Bianca did together. Maggie tried to explain that she and Bianca were just friends and that she wasn't gay.

Henry appeared to finally believe Maggie, and they agreed to study together. "We make a good team," Maggie declared. Henry agreed and sat at Maggie's desk. By the time they were done studying, Henry was sitting next to Maggie on her bed. They discussed chemistry for a few seconds, and then they started kissing.

David was at Anna's bedside, where the couple was hugging and kissing. Anna thanked David again for saving their baby. David suddenly remembered that he had a surprise for Anna and ran out of the room. His good mood abruptly changed when he saw Edmund in the hallway. David blocked the door to Anna's room, but Edmund managed to pass by him.

Anna greeted Edmund and saw that David was right behind him. Edmund quickly explained that her sister Alex was asking for her. She asked David to leave so that she and Edmund could have private time. David reluctantly left, and Anna changed the subject to Aidan and Maria. She told Edmund that Aidan had been framed, and he was definitely not a murderer.

Edmund nodded sadly and told Anna that he was happy for her nephew. Edmund told Anna to take care, and he left. David followed Edmund into the hallway and thanked Edmund for not mentioning the experimental memory drug. Edmund just glared at David and silently walked away.

David returned to Anna's bedside and gave her a surprise valentine. It was a red heart with their baby's sonogram in the middle.

In the meantime, Edmund had gone back to Wildwind, pacing sadly in the living room. Little Maddie entered the room and asked him if he was sad because it was Valentine's Day and mommy wasn't there. He assured Maddie that she was his favorite valentine and tearfully gave her a hug.

Morgan followed Julian into their hotel room. She frantically asked Julian what they should do with Kingman's body. Julian shouted that he would handle it. He ordered Morgan to calm down because he wanted to take his time with Aidan. He predicted once again how much he would relish killing Aidan's soul mate, Maureen, right in front of Aidan. He reminded Morgan how Aidan had killed his Fiona and how much Aidan had humiliated him. Morgan expressed her support in Julian's revenge plans. But as soon as Julian turned his back, her face changed.

In the meantime, Maria/Maureen was lying on the beach because of her injured ankle. Aidan found a towel and wrapped her ankle while Maureen stared at him, dreamy-eyed. Aidan asked her if she could stand, but she could barely walk. With Aidan's help, she hobbled across the beach into a dark cabin.

Inside the cabin, Aidan cracked some coconuts and told Maureen some more of the history between him and Julian. He explained that Julian had become jealous of him from the moment he had arrived in London as a young man. He told Maureen that he had lived with Morgan and that Julian had physically abused Fiona. At the time, he had thought he was in love with Fiona, but he claimed he had never, ever touched her. Instead, he had gone to Afghanistan to get himself killed.

Maria thanked him for sharing the information with her and caressed his face. "Happy Valentine's Day," she said, staring deeply into his eyes. They began kissing. Aidan suddenly stopped and looked at her. "Come with me," he said and took her hand. They went back to the beach and built a bonfire. Then they lay next to the fire, where they snuggled and kissed to the background tune of "I Am Ready for Love.""
