Kendall arrives at Erica's office. A gracious Erica asks if she's ready to start her new job. Kendall recalls her last stint for working for her mother at Enchantment and how bad of an experience it was. Erica assures her daughter that this time, things will be much different. Ms. Kane gives her an orientation package, which also includes the computer password to the Enchantment computer files. Kendall is overwhelmed and is shocked that her mom is giving her all the secrets to her company on her first day on board. Erica assures her that she will be making fast calls and executive decisions while she's at Enchantment. It's important that she has all the company info from day one. Kendall throws down the folder Erica gave her and asks her what's really going on. Ms. Kane tries to assure her that she hired her because she can be a big asset to the company, not to make her look good in the press. Kendall asks where the hidden cameras are. Erica demands her to stop it and to start being serious about the job she's been hired to do. Kendall agrees to be civil, and then asks why she gave her access to the passwords to the company files. Erica says that Enchantment won't function without trust among her and her employees, including her. Kendall buys her excuse, and then asks when is the press conference to announce that Erica has hired her estranged daughter to work for her at Enchantment. Erica says that's a little premature. Kendall asks if she thinks that she's newsworthy. Ms. Kane urges her to prove herself first. Kendall asks if she even trusts her. Erica says that trust is a two-way street and that she needs to see if Kendall can earn hers. La Kane hands Kendall over a bunch of files and asks her to look over them and have a report with a four-month projection by week's end. She also wants to hear her ideas for the Winter Wonderland campaign. When Kendall asks about spare time, Erica says that in this business, there isn't any. Ms. Hart assures her mom that she can do this work in her sleep. Erica leaves for the hospital and expects a progress report when she returns. Before she leaves, she tells Kendall that she's free to use anything in the office except what's in the black filing cabinet, which is for her eyes only. A few seconds later, Bianca pops in and tells Kendall that she waited for their mother to leave before coming in. Kendall asks why she's there. Bianca says that she just had to pick up the rest of her mail. Bianca asks how working for Erica is going. Kendall tells her about Erica giving her full access to all of Enchantment's files and asks herself what's up with that. Bianca says that it's a test and asks her if she thinks she'll pass.

At Greenlee's loft, Ms. Smythe asks Leo to spill whatever it is he has to say to her. Leo says that while he was in jail, he realized how much Vanessa hurt their relationship. Greenlee says that what he's saying is no news flash. Leo continues by saying that how she hurt them was similar to being blindsided in a car wreck. Right after the accident, you feel okay with only a few minor bruises. But the morning after, everything hurts. He says that she must be hurting much more than he is. Greenlee tells him to get on with the point. Leo tells her that on everything he meant to her, he's sorry. Greenlee never blamed him for what his mother did. He knows that, but he never looked out for her during the turmoil and he let himself get sucked into her games. He admits that while she and Jake were fighting for their lives, he was dealing with his own self-pity and telling everyone around him to take a flying leap. He wasn't there when she needed him. Just then, someone knocks at the door. Greenlee answers it, and it's Simone. She's there to drop off a payment for the renter's insurance she requested for the apartment. Simone sees Leo and says that she can come back later when she's not busy. Leo says he was just leaving. He and Greenlee agree that there's nothing more for them to say. They both wish each other luck in the future. After Leo leaves, Simone says that they are still in love with each other and that one of them needs to say something to the other about it before they both keel over and die.

She leaves from her hiding place and runs into a sulking Stuart. Mia asks what's wrong and if Liza's okay. Stuart doesn't know anything since he just came back to the hospital. She asks where Adam is. He tells her that his twin is in the chapel next door, but he's scared to go in after what happened with Marian earlier. Stuart begs her not to think anything bad about Marian before he tells her that she was drunk. He took her home and put her to bed. He isn't sure if he should stay with Adam or go back with Marian. Mia suggests that he go back to Marian and she'll stay with Adam. She promises to call them as soon as Liza gets out of surgery. Stuart thanks Mia for her offer and heads back home.

Jake explains that it was difficult trying to get the tumor out of Liza. However, they were able to get it all. Adam demands that the doctors tell him that Liza will be fine. Jake tells him that they just can't make that call. Mia walks into the room just as Dr. Greenberg tells Adam that Liza had a menigioma situated at her frontal lobe, which wasn't cancerous. However, it was a lengthy procedure and because of this, Liza could suffer some neurological damage. Adam asks how much damage. They won't know for sure until later. Adam asks why they're scaring him. Jake wants him to be prepared for the worst. Adam is in denial over the situation. Jake assures Chandler that Liza pulled through surgery okay. Adam feels that if she ends up being like a vegetable, that's not the case. Jake once again tells Adam that they won't be able to determine the total damage, if any, until after Liza regains consciousness. Adam asks if he would prescribe more prayers. Jake promises to get Adam once Liza wakes up. The doctors leave, and Adam asks Mia to find Stuart and Marian and tell them about Liza's condition. Mia tells him that they left since the situation was too much for Marian to handle. Adam wants to check up on Colby. Mia volunteers to do it for him. Adam asks her to tell Colby that he's spending the night with her mommy and that they both love her very much. Adam leaves the chapel, leaving an upset Mia alone.

Greenlee recounts seeing a guy at BJ's that looked just like Leo the other day. Greens wonders if the feeling ever ends. Simone isn't sure, since every guy she sees looks like Mateo. Greenlee refuses to be that pathetic and vows to get her life back together, starting with quitting at Enchantment. Simone asks why. Greens reveals that Erica demoted her and put Kendall in her place. She says that it makes no sense that Erica would replace someone like her who was good at her job with Kendall, who knows nothing about cosmetics. Simone says she must have her reasons for doing it. Greenlee says that La Kane's keeping the reasons to herself and she's not going to stick it out to see why. Simone offers to take her there and drive the getaway car after she leaves. Greenlee says that she can handle her boss on her own and tells her to stick around. Before Greenlee leaves, Simone tells her that she is anything but pathetic.

Colby says that Marian didn't look too happy earlier. Mia explains that her Mimi is worried about Liza, and that's why she's been so sad. Leo is shocked again over this news and asks when it happened. David said it just happened and asks him to just be happy for him and Anna. Leo has no problem drinking to the newlyweds. David asks Maggie if she wants to be part of their dysfunctional family. Maggie says that you can't choose family. David says that you can choose whether or not you want to fit in with the family. After some thought, Maggie decides she does want to be part of the Hayward/Du Pres family. David makes another toast welcoming Maggie to the family.

Adam returns to the hospital chapel once it's empty. Stuart comes in soon afterward. Adam asks why he isn't back home. Stuart wanted to see how Liza's doing. Adam informs his brother that Liza came out of surgery all right, but there could be brain damage. Stuart is shocked over the news. Adam reveals how helpless he feels about the situation. Stuart suggests they pray together. Adam insists that God's not listening and wonders what you do when you can't do anything. Stuart doesn't know the answer. Stuart leaves Adam alone and Erica arrives later to visit in the chapel. Before they can talk, Jake interrupts and tells Adam that Liza is coming out of the anesthesia. She urges him to go with Jake and they'll catch up later. Upon arriving in Liza's room, Jake urges Adam to go easy on Liza and to not expect her to be totally responsive. Jake suggests he just be there for her and tell her that everything will be okay. "You mean lie," barks Adam as he goes into his wife's room. Adam sits down to see an unconscious Liza, who's head is bandaged from the surgery. He tells her that he's there and that everything will be alright. He holds her hand and hopes for her to open her eyes. Soon, Liza slowly opens her eyes. Adam comes closer to her as they stare at one another.

Bianca says that in reality, Ms. Kane is probably plotting something. Kendall will be ready. Kendall assures her little sister that Erica won't catch her with her pants down. Bianca gives up and tells her not to say she didn't warn her. Ms. Hart reminds her that she's the older sister. That may be so, but Bianca says that she's known Erica a lot longer and she almost never loses. After Bianca leaves, Kendall stares at the file cabinet.
